The MyFC Web Team Shows Their Mettle !
It was my pleasure to meet up with two members of our web team on Thursday Night ( 10th March 2011 ) in Scarborough, Yorkshire. Julio (Rantbox) and Jon (Jon) were playing a gig with their band illuminatus at Vivaz in Scarborough Town Centre. It was a non football night for me which was a real joy and a night never to be forgotten. The entire Society Board looked forward to finding out how I would fair in the mosh pit ! "Go in hard and it doesn't hurt so much ! " says the Chairman. Instead, I was busy with the video camera. More of that hopefully in the future.
We got to the show early and had a good talk with them about previous shows they had done. We found out that they had played at the O2 academy and the biggest crowd theyhad played to was around 3,000. They had played in Denmark a few weeks before. A mixture of an Englishman, a Spaniard, an Italian and a German made for a professional mix, but they were always full of fun. It is a potent mix and one that I recognised from our work with them in the Autumn when developing the new MyFC Website.
It was fascinating pre show to watch them doing the technical set up, getting the sound balance correct. The band is from Nottingham and had travelled up to play Hull the previous night then onto Newcastle after the show in Scarborough. Many of the songs played in the set were from their new CD 'Glasnost' which was released last month. It was recorded in Germany last year when the Football World Cup was on. A daily video diary made me feel almost like I was there with them as their new album came to life.
Being with the guys made me realise that this has been another of the positive spin offs of being part of the MyFC journey. Without MyFC , I would never have met them and had such an enjoyable noisy evening. What other members have talents that can be shared with the membership ?

If they come to play near you, try and catch them play, you will not be disappointed. Good luck for the future gents and I will follow your progress with interest. What date is it they play in Barnsley ? ( Apr 1 ).
